Mallzee Student Ambassador 2014/15

Recently something super exciting happened - I was selected as a "Mallzee Student Ambassador" along with other students and fashion enthusiasts from each Uni across the UK. I'm lucky enough to represent Glasgow Caledonian University along with two other ambassador's, whom i'm looking forward to get to know and work with. Yaaaay!

So, what is Mallzee?

For those of you who haven't stumbled across this amazing application yet - you're missing out. Mallzee acts as a "personal shopper in your pocket" by recognising your own personal style based on likes and dislikes before curating a collection of clothes tailored to you from thousands of big name brands and retailers.

You can browse by price, category, colour and style allowing you to find exactly what you're looking for instantly and effortlessly, all in one easy to use application. My days of having 15 different windows open on the hunt of that perfect pair of jeans or little black dress are long gone. Shopping really has never been easier.

The new version has introduced a ton of new features such as price drop notifications for saved items (never again will you miss a bargain) and an interactive homepage with style picks from bloggers and stylists to stay up to date with the latest trends. It's also super easy to share your fashion finds via twitter, facebook and whatsapp allowing you to consult friends for much needed advice and valuable second opinions.

OOTD | All White Everythaaang

So yesterday I went a wee road trip and thought i'd share what I wore with you!

Stripe Tshirt | Primark
White Crop | H&M
White Shorts | Primark
Bag | Primark
Hat | Shade London
Trainers | Schuh

I Literally threw this outfit together five minutes before I left - As you can probably tell, I am loving all white at the moment. This is partially because it makes you look tanned and also because it's such a change from my usual head-to-toe black outfits I tend to wear. I honestly would live in a hat if I could - definitely need to add to my 5 panel collection! The weather has been suuuper nice this week (for a change) so i'm away to enjoy it before I start work!

Have you been embracing the white trend this summer?

I'm back!
I returned from my holiday in Magaluf on Saturday - apologies for the lack of posting but now things have calmed down i'm determined to get back on track! Just a quick outfit post of what I wore the other day. These mesh shorts from Hot!Mess are genuinely one of my favourite things in my wardrobe at the moment. I own the matching crop too and can tell that they are both going to be getting a lot of wear this summer. Also - this jacket. I am SOOOO in love with it and and stole it from my boyfriend for the day. I absolutely love layering at the moment - shirts have rarely left my waist this season.

What's your wardrobe essentials this summer?

Beauty | House of Holland x Elegant Touch

Never in my life have I been a "nail" person. I'm terrible at the maintenance involved in having nice nails and resorted to acrylics for the best part of last year, resulting in them being very weak and damaged. Recently I wanted to try something different and was super interested in the Elegant Touch x Henry Holland's due to the bright, unique, and 3D designs. My favourite was the "heartbreaker" set and they were almost impossible to get hold of - many trips to boots and superdrug later, I finally found them!

£7.99 - Boots

Included in the pack is nail glue, a nail file, and 24 different sized nails to fit every shape and size. The application was quick and easy. I was originally very reluctant to wear stick on nails due to experiences in the past of them constantly pinging off - I did however, have nothing to fear! The glue was super strong and I had them on for around a week without any problems.

If you're looking for an alternative to acrylics or simply fancy a change to your natural nail - I would definitely recommend these! There's designs to match every personality and style, they were relatively undamaging to my nails aaaaand they didn't break the bank. I've already got my eyes on the "thorn in my side" set.

Have you tried these nails? What did you think of them?

OOTD | Baby Blue Leather

Shirt | Zara
Blazer | H&M
Skirt | Primark
Bag | Primark
Boots | River Island
Hat | Ebay

I picked up this baby blue leather skirt from Primark a month a so or go and forgot all about it until today. It's actually very well made and a great fit, well worth the £10 i think I spent! I paired it with a Zara shirt and my H&M blazer, keeping it all very monochromatic. I am so in love with this Primark backpack, I wore it to fashion weekend and think that it can totally make an outfit. This is a relatively dressy outfit for me - a bit different from my usual nikes and baggy tshirts!

Fashion | Birkenstocks - Yay or Nay?!

Love them or loathe them, Birkenstock style sandals have been appearing on everyone from the Olsen twins to Vogue editors, and i've got to admit - they're growing on me.

Birkenstock Arizona Two Strap - Office £49.95

Once I got past my initial reservations of associating them with grandparents and every suburban dad - I realised, they're really not that bad. A trend that is fashionable AND comfortable - what's not to love?! Designers ranging from Givenchy to Steve Madden have even released their own versions inspired by the classic sandal.

Steve Madden

With the average price tag for a pair of Birkenstocks coming in at just under £50, the high street has provided some affordable and equally as stylish options.

Topshop Slip Ons - £26
Topshop Chunky Slip Ons - £48

River Island Metallic Mules  - £26

My personal favourites that I will definitely be adding to my summer wardrobe are these gold metallic numbers from River Island - brought to my attention by uglyfaceofbeauty. They're super versatile and can be paired with skinny jeans, shorts or summer dresses to create an effortless, comfortable yet on trend look this season. I love the metallic shine, and think that it makes them look fun and youthful, more "me".

Love or Loathe - whats you're opinion on this summers Birkenstock revival?!

Beauty | Naked 3 Palette Dupe

The Urban Decay Naked Palettes are my holy grail of beauty products. I currently own Naked 1 and 2 - and was extremely interested in the 3rd one following all the hype after it's release. When I saw fashiontrain blog about this dupe, I had to try it out!

Naked 3 Palette - TMart

Naked 3 Palette - TMart
Naked 3 - TMart
I ordered this from American website, T Mart. It arrived in around 10 days and there was free worldwide shipping - for only paying £3.63 I really couldn't complain!

The shades are super similar to the original Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette bar a few, the only thing I would say is that they could be slightly more pigmented and are a little too soft/crumbly on application. (as you can see in the picture, one of the shades has actually crumbled away during the posting process). However, you do get what you pay for and on payday i'm looking forward to ordering the real thing.

Overall i'm impressed with this dupe and would definitely recommend buying it if you're looking to spend only a fraction of the price! You can pick it up from T-Mart here.

My old Naked 2 Palette -  can you tell it's my most used beauty item!
